Detox: Day 2 and 3.

Day 2 and 3 of The Detox have been going well. I have noticed I am a little more hungry on Day 3, but it is also the weekend, so I have much more free time and less stress. My body is finally relaxing, so it is noticing I am changing what I put in it! I am still trying to stick to the plan, but if I think I need to add something else, I will let you know :)
ALSO spinach points to me (I would say brownie but that would just make me want to eat a brownie) at school it was the last day for Grades 4 and 5, they will have finals the next week and a half, so of course they had parties GALORE on Thursday. Parties here a little different from home. The kids bring in 10 boxes of Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kremes, liters of soda, candy bars, cake, cupcakes and anything else that would make your stomach vomit on the inside, and they consume it all day. They could have a different teacher each period, so in each class they could have a separate party. WOW they were nuts yesterday.
They also love to share. So I had about 15 4th and 5th graders knocking on my door during my lessons and asking if I wanted any sweets. Do you know about my love for donuts? Well, I love them. End of story.  So saying no was like turning down a million dollars. I will CONFESS though. Justin, the meanie that he is, sent one of his 5th graders to my door with a mini Krispy Kreme donut about the size of my pinky and... I ATE IT! I'm sorry. I did it. I couldn't help it. But you know what, it was delicious. No regrets!
Now that it is the weekend and we finally get to relax, Jus and I are taking full advantage of our 3 days off. We had StopTheClock this morning and we all about died. Again. I feel like I say that a lot after my workouts. Gotta love Crossfit.
4 Rounds:
100m run/swim
15 OH walking lunges #15
15 Jug Burpees #15
You'd think it'd be simple. 3 exercises? No prob.
Nope, took me 20 minutes. I was dying. I can't tell you how much the heat plays a factor into your workouts. And this is at 8 am. No joke, it's probably over 90 degrees, pushing 100 at 8 am. It HOT!!!
Yay for the weekend!!
That was the last of our StopTheClock sessions for the summer! Wow, I can't believe it! We've spend 6 months meeting the most wonderful people, and we are so blessed for it. If any of you are reading this, thank you. We love you and hope to see you in a few months!!

God bless!

Detox: Day 1.

Well, I completed Day 1 of my new "eating habits" and so far so good. I was a bit worried that I would be starving during the day, but it actually turned out pretty perfect. I had my normal 2 eggs and fruit smoothie in the morning, muesli and Greek yogurt for snack, protein drink and protein bar for lunch, nuts with dried mango end of the day snack, and finished off with a protein drink for dinner.
The WOD was Deck of Death at StopTheClock, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a PR. Deck of Death is explained by you completing a deck of cards, each suit representing a different exercise.
Hearts= squats, diamonds= sit ups, clovers (I call them)= push ups, and spades= lunges. Aces= a 100 m run, and the two jokers are 15 burpees. So you end up doing 85 of each exercise (plus a 400m run and 30 burpees) it is just at random what exercises you get. It had been a few months since I had done this workout, so I was pretty nervous. I knew that even if I didn't PR on time, I would be PRing anyway, because I am now doing hand release push ups, and before I was doing sissy pants knee push ups (sorry to those who do knees haha!)
IT WAS FREAKING HOT!
Like sweat dripping into your eyes not letting you see, hot. I didn't PR, on time, but I knew I was doing everything RX and doing it the way it was designed. Go me!
So, when we got home and showered, I really wasn't that hungry. I made myself a protein shake (I put a few ice cubes in there to make it really cold) and it was delicious!! And that seriously filled me up. I was satisfied. So I skyped with my BFF for a couple hours and hit the hay!

Feel free to send feedback if you've done a juice fast or changed up your eating habits recently! How have you changed? Do you feel different? Leave me a comment about your thoughts.

God bless!!

Detox.

I know I am going to get an email from my mother after this post, and maybe even my father, rolling their eyes and telling me I am crazy. Well, sorry fam, you're just going to have to deal with it! :)
It is now 24 days until we are back in the good 'ol U-S-A! We are going to have a very busy summer, including lots of little trips to places like L.A., Hawaii, Portland, and meeting up with our friends from Ireland and The UK in Florence! Yes, that is right, we get to show off our good 'ol state to people from Ireland! Whoop!
Anyways, the reason for this post is to inform you on a new...how do I say this..."eating change" I am going to try. No, no, I am not going to "diet". I know I have no reason to diet, so Mom, get your panties out of a bunch! But I would like to see how my crazy body reacts to something a little different.
I have heard of many juice detoxes and juicing diets, and they have always intrigued me. So I decided to not go overboard, but make up my own rendition. I will keep a journal (here) of how my body reacts (sorry in advance for the "the toilet is my best friend" comments) and tell you any changes that occur. This will also keep me motivated and accountable for sticking with it!
Here is how my menu has turned out:

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 1 fruit smoothie (whatever fresh/frozen fruit we have on hand)

Snack (while the kids are at recess): Greek yogurt and homemade muesli

Lunch: Protein shake and protein bar

Snack (after school): a handful of almonds or walnuts

Dinner: Fruit and veggie smoothie (veggies= spinach and carrots) , protein shake
And if I feel like I am going to starve to death If necessary: a slice of chocolate cake. (kidding)
I am really excited to try out some new smoothie recipes like this, this, and EVEN this.

If you need some helpful hints about different smoothies recipes or what they do for your body, here is a great website/article to check out.
Of course, I will be drinking TONS of water.

Feel free to join me! :)

God bless and stay healthy!
