27 Million.

Did you know that human trafficking is one of the largest global organized crimes? Generating just over 33 billion dollars per yer, it surpasses Nike, Google, and Starbucks yearly wages COMBINED. Today there are over 27 million slaves, over half of this number being children.
Why am I telling you this? Well, we (Justin and I and StopTheClock) have partnered up with The Burn Room out of Dubai to try and raise awareness for human trafficking. The Burn Room has taken on a challenge of trying to reach 27 million repetitions in a whole year. That means 27 million reps, meters run, meters rowed, inches on box jumps, pull ups, etc... and they have one year to do all of them. Each month they are hosting an event that lets teams like us join forces with them to try and raise awareness for this horrific crime.
What is the event this month? Meters run. And what is our number? 400. You and your team has to complete 400 sets of 400 meters. Holy moly, right? Yeah, it's a ridiculous amount of running, but when you put in your mind why you are doing it, it just seems a little bit easier.
We have put together a team of about 8 or 9 people and we are going to run our booty's off (literally) for almost 15 hours on Friday morning. Registration starts at 5:30 AM, so we will start the trek from Abu Dhabi about 4:00. We are so excited and grateful for the members that have decided to run with us! This will be our first STC "outing" and we know that we will have a complete blast.
On Thursday night we are hosting a Pasta Party, eating and stuffing our faces with as many carbs as we can before we run them all off and more the next morning. I may not be able to move from my bed on Saturday, but I will post pictures as soon as possible.
Wish us luck!
