27 minutes for 27 million.

This weekend was another 27 million project workout. What a great turnout we had! There were about 20 of us, I would say, give or take a few. We had news cameras, paparazzi, and some journalists there to document our moves. It was so cool to see the support of everyone there.
The grueling workout was a 27 minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) of:
10 power cleans
10 front squat
10 overhead (jerk, push press, shoulder press)
After completion of each round you do ascending burpees.
Round 1= 1 burpee
Round 2= 2 burpees
Round 3= 3 burpees
...etc
I had done a few rounds, looked up at the clock, dripping with sweat, and could not believe that only 10 minutes had passed! It was insane. We were so pooped afterwards, everyone did such a great job!
Here are some pics to follow:

Hope you're having a great weekend!
God bless!!

Kicking human trafficking in the booty.

Well folks, we finished our first set of the 27 million project and I can say, today is the first day where I can walk without looking like a have a pole up my you-know-where. A grueling 10.5 hours in the 104 degree sun, we completed our 400 laps. What an accomplishment we did with our group of StopTheClockers. Justin and I were so proud that not one single member of our team gave up, despite some injuries. We were so proud to walk away from the track knowing that we completed the goal we set out to do and did it with heart. Way to go team!
It was so amazing to watch about 30-40 different people with completely different backgrounds, upbringings, and from different parts of the world take time out of their day to come and kick human trafficking in the booty!
Though running 10.5 hours was not on our bucket list, and is something we will NEVER do again, it was well worth it. We had a choice to run. We had a choice to quit, stay, walk, run, sit, stand. Those people who we were running for did not. They did not have a choice to be enslaved. And I think that is what kept us going; the reason we were there is what kept us going. Thank you Jesus for our freedom in You, and thank you for the opportunity to spread the word about this dreadful crime. Though our actions were small, we can still be proud of the work we accomplished to help do our part in this giant world.

27 Million.

Did you know that human trafficking is one of the largest global organized crimes? Generating just over 33 billion dollars per yer, it surpasses Nike, Google, and Starbucks yearly wages COMBINED. Today there are over 27 million slaves, over half of this number being children.
Why am I telling you this? Well, we (Justin and I and StopTheClock) have partnered up with The Burn Room out of Dubai to try and raise awareness for human trafficking. The Burn Room has taken on a challenge of trying to reach 27 million repetitions in a whole year. That means 27 million reps, meters run, meters rowed, inches on box jumps, pull ups, etc... and they have one year to do all of them. Each month they are hosting an event that lets teams like us join forces with them to try and raise awareness for this horrific crime.
What is the event this month? Meters run. And what is our number? 400. You and your team has to complete 400 sets of 400 meters. Holy moly, right? Yeah, it's a ridiculous amount of running, but when you put in your mind why you are doing it, it just seems a little bit easier.
We have put together a team of about 8 or 9 people and we are going to run our booty's off (literally) for almost 15 hours on Friday morning. Registration starts at 5:30 AM, so we will start the trek from Abu Dhabi about 4:00. We are so excited and grateful for the members that have decided to run with us! This will be our first STC "outing" and we know that we will have a complete blast.
On Thursday night we are hosting a Pasta Party, eating and stuffing our faces with as many carbs as we can before we run them all off and more the next morning. I may not be able to move from my bed on Saturday, but I will post pictures as soon as possible.
Wish us luck!
